Community Services
Our church building is a very busy place!
Every day we welcome groups (both church-related and community-related) into our building and they enrich their lives and the lives of others.
U.C.W. (United Church Women): All women in our church family are United Church Women! At 1:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month a number of our ladies gather in the hall for song, reflection and interesting guest speakers. A social time of refreshment follows these monthly meetings.
In addition to attending the meetings, our U.C.W. keeps very busy as they cater to a number of funeral receptions, birthday parties, and anniversary parties. Monies raised through their catering activities support mission & outreach at home and around the world and also support many projects of our church.
Alcoholics Anonymous: A.A. meets in the church hall on Saturday evenings.
Alikram: The local Muslim faith community gathers in the church hall for their weekly Friday afternoon prayers.
FUND-RAISING
Throughout the year, individuals and groups are in the planning a variety of fund-raising events. Sometimes special projects are the object of the fund-raising and sometimes the object is to support our church General Fund ensuring that our church building is maintained and that programs can continue to thrive.
Often in the spring (late May or early June) we organize a Plant, Yard and Bake Sale selling a wide variety of plants for the garden, home-baked goodies and gently used books. Proceeds from this sale support the church General Fund.
Throughout the fall, winter and spring months we host Community Dinners for members of the congregation and the community to share “Crock-Pot” dinners with each other.
All events are posted under “What’s Up?” – News
FELLOWSHIP
Coffee Hour: Join us on the last Sunday of every month following the worship service for a time of fellowship and refreshment. Our congregational life committee prepares coffee, tea and juice (and sometimes goodies) for all to enjoy.
